Bayern Munich want Guardiola to take over in 2013

The 41-year-old took the reins at Camp Nou in 2008 and led the Catalan club to 14 trophies, but stepped down at the end of the season citing a need to recharge his batteries.

Bayern boss Jupp Heynckes has just one year remaining on his contract with the club, and is considering stepping down once his deal expires.

Die Roten president Uli Hoeness admitted last month that he would jump at the chance to install Guardiola as the Bavarians' coach, but only if the Spaniard was willing to learn German.

Goal.com understands that general manager Christian Nerlinger had an informal meeting with Pere Guardiola, Pep's brother and agent, after the Copa del Rey final in May to discuss the possibility of the former Spain midfielder moving to the Allianz Arena.

However, it is understood that Guardiola is not entertaining any offers at present and is intent on enjoying his sabbatical away from the game.

During his four-year reign in charge of Barcelona, Guardiola won three Liga titles, two Champions Leagues and two Copas del Rey, among a number of other trophies.

6 Reasons Barcelona Fans Should Not Be Worried About Next Season

In case you just woke up from a nap that started in April, FC Barcelona's club season didn't quite finish the way they were hoping.
A loss in the Champions League semifinal and a runner-up finish in La Liga were on-field setbacks. The real blow, though, came when manager Pep Guardiola decided to leave the club, taking with him his astounding record of results.
Hence, more than any other summer in the past few reasons, there are some legitimate causes for concern amongst supporters of the Blaugrana; on the other hand, there are still many reasons why concern is an overreaction.  Here are the six main reasons why there is no cause for worry in the nation of Catalonia.

Cristiano Ronaldo has escaped unhurt after crashing his Ferrari sports car into a roadside barrier in a tunnel near Manchester airport. The car was badly damaged when it was involved in the accident at 10.20am today on the A538 Wilmslow Road, but the 23-year-old Manchester United winger was not injured.
Ronaldo was on his way to training when the accident occurred, but he later arrived at the ground and took part in the training session. His car crashed in the tunnel which takes traffic under the airport runways between Wilmslow and Hale, Cheshire. Witnesses said Ronaldo got out of the car and stood beside the wreckage, apparently not injured in the incident.
The car, registered in his home country of Portugal, is part of a fleet owned by Ronaldo. The Portuguese winger was spoken to at the scene by police investigating the incident. It is understood no other vehicles were involved but the aftermath of the crash was seen by a fellow United player.
The United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar was travelling behind Ronaldo, at the wheel of his own Bentley, at the time of the accident. It is understood the players were making their way from their homes in Cheshire to United's Carrington training complex.
A witness described how the front edge of the sports car had been demolished while one of the front wheels had sheared off and could be seen 200 yards away from the scene. A rear tyre was flat. The witness said: "I got there just after the accident had happened and saw the state of the car. It is amazing he got out of it without a scratch."
A spokesman for Greater Manchester police said: "We are investigating a road traffic collision in the airport tunnel on the A538. It appears a Ferrari has collided with a barrier in the tunnel. Enquiries are continuing. The driver is being spoken to at the scene. It does not appear he has been injured."
United confirmed the incident had taken place and that the Ballon d'Or winner was unhurt. A club spokesman said: "He was involved in an incident this morning. No other cars were involved. He's fine and is training as normal with the team this morning."
Ronaldo appeared as a substitute last night in United's 1-0 Carling Cup semi-final first-leg defeat at Derby County. The next leg is played at Old Trafford in a fortnight.

Lionel Messi Suffered Car Accident

Lionel Messi died in a single vehicle crash on Route 80 between Morristown and Roswell. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics responding to the vehicle accident and was identified by photo ID found on his body. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been a factor in this accident - June 19, 2012

Highway Safety Investigators have told reporters that Lionel Messi lost control while driving a friend's vehicle on Interstate 80 and rolled the vehicle several times killing him instantly.

The vehicle was believed to have been traveling at approximately 95 miles per hour in a 55mph zone at the time of the accident.

Witnesses have stated that Lionel Messi's car crossed the double lines several times prior to the accident and hit the center lane divider causing the vehicle to flip and roll.

Toxicology tests will be performed to determine whether he was driving under the influence, however initial findings indicate that durgs or alcohol did not contribute in any way to this accident as it was more likely to been caused by road conditions.

Memorial services for Lionel Messi have not yet been announced. The service is expected to be a closed casket funeral due to the severe head trauma.
